PS: What was "fixed" at the dealership?
well they replaced all ignition coils on recall and these have had to be replaced before the recall was in effect. I also had a cracked coolant reservoir tank and I fixed this with JB weld but before i patched it up some coolant was leaking on the black wires that go into the engine "spark plugs?"
If some of the coolant dripped and got in between it could this cause that?

Maybe, if the wires were exposed. Get the codes read though before you start throwing parts at it. You can also physically check to see if the coils/plugs are not submersed in any type of liquid that might be acting against a clean spark( Easiest way to put it).

Back to the fuel filter question, no, that wouldn't be it. The filter gets restrictive in a gradual way, and may last the life of the car if it always gets clean gas. You don't have bad-filter symptoms.

The filter is under the car, not the easiest place to work.

DEFINITELY getting ripped off. I just went to Autozone and it was $80 for all four and takes about 5 minutes to pop them in place.

Aharris posted this over 11 years ago, so has probably gotten over being ripped off.

Default P0303 Misfire. Replaced all sparkplugs and coils to fix

First, replace all the sparkplugs $12 each, easy job with a wrench extension and a 5/8 socket. Old ones had carbon deposits on them,.
Still the same code, so I replaced the ignition coils, which you have to remove to take out the sparkplugs anyways. And that did the trick.

4 coils are ~ $100
Coils take 5 min to replace. sparkplugs 5-10 min.
Can do all of this in 20 min easy and spend no more than $150 on parts if you have the tools.
If you don't have the tools, can buy and return or go to thrift stores they often have cheap tools.

you'll need a wrench, sparkplug socket or just a 5/8 in with an extension .

I'm with you up to that point. But that's like a woman who buys an outfit for a Saturday wedding, then returns it on Monday for a refund. Not very ethical, as the store returns money for used items (unless they have a "restocking charge" to deal with that).

Which is what drives pricing of merchandise, for the rest of us. We as consumers pay for returned merch. each and every year.
