2004 A4 just popped a P0011 code
Hello all, 1st time posting. My wife called me today and told me her A4 popped a CEL. She pulled over to an Advanced Auto and had them scan. The car is at 65k or so.
Now, I've been Googling and searching this forum and I've found a few threads. I've discovered that the timing belt should be changed around 60k as well as the waterpump (and thermostat?)
Now as far as going about getting rid of this P0011... Is it just the timing belt? Or...a sensor...or will I have to investigate further?
I've seen timing belt kits on GermanAutoParts.com and under the tech section. Is this what I need?...
I've have some pretty good technical skills... I spend my working days fixing helicopters and small airplanes... but some car parts are a challenge for me... (I hate transmissions.)

some answers here..
Consensus is that TB should be done from 60k to 75k. I am planning on doing mine closer to 75k than 60k.

as for P0011 this seems like the most interesting link and this is how I would start the troubleshooting process

Re: so what was the verdict?
Well... I wanted to look into the problem by checking the sensors with a multimeter and such before diving in... She got home from school, I ran out to check it...and no CEL. I drove the dog crap out of it and went to Advance Auto to scan it again...and nothing. This weekend, I'm going to change out the TB and water pump anyways...
I have no clue why it would go away. She didn't clear the code with the scanner either
