Serpentine belt tensioner removal
I have a A4 (B6 platform) with the 3.0 and the pulley on the serpentine tensioner came apart. It is real tight space between the motor and the fans. I have unbolted the tensioner but there is not enough room to squeeze the part out. It looks like I need to put it into the lock carrier position. Before I commit to that has anyone done this job without moving the front clip? I've done timing belts before so its not a new thing for me, I'd just like to avoid it if possible.
thanks

you can get it out without pulling the whole front end of the car off. I did many years ago but I can barely remember the job. But I know I did not have to drain the fluid. I'll see if I can find my pics.

As it turned out, I had to put it into the "service position". Which adds a couple hours to the job. it's too bad audi can't give us 2 or 3 inches of more space in that area.
