Default yes i read the buyers guide!!

hey guys. i'm considering selling my mk5 gti and getting an A4 wagon as a means for freeing up some cash (unemployed) and providing some space for my rapidly growing black lab puppy.

i'm in canada where my gti is supposedly worth more than what i paid for it while living in new york last year and therfore i think if i wanna get rid of it, now is the best time. and thanks to the government easing the regs about american imports, A4 wagons are now on the list of cars i can bring into canada.

question is, buyers guide aside, how have these cars aged? let's say i would wanna spend around 6k, obviously less is better, do you think it is possible that the 1.8t wagon with hopefully a manual would still be a robust car with lots of life on it?

i'm asking about the average here, i'm sure i could find the odd creampuff with like 50k on it owned by an old lady or somthing...but i can't count on that!!!

thanks for the input

I am actually torn between buying a 06 GTI or 01 a4 1.8.

I had a b5 s4. It was awesome but not reliable.

But a4 more reliable.

Default you could find a 1.8TQM Avant with around 100k for $3,000-4,000 that can last another 100k with

proper care, but for $6,000 you could find a clean well running clean title with 60-70k.
