Default yay for coolant leaks

I was on my way to a friends house when I was getting on the highway and noticed my temp guage was 1 tick above normal. I pulled over and popped the hood to find coolant all over the back of the engine. I called my dad and he came to help me figure out what happened. We found a pin hole in one of the coolant pipes. A friend of mine went and grabbed water for me. We filled it up and I drove it home keeping an eye on the temp guage, its home now but what a pain :/ My dad is taking a trip to the dealer for me tomorrow and hopefully I'll a chance to fix it tomorrow.

Wow that's weird the exact thing happened to me today. Although I'm worrried that I blew my head gasket. (New K04 and chip) old 90k+ engine.

But I have coolant down the back of the engine too. Which pipe broke. I should check mine.

Default Got a coolant leak too...

The whole reserve tank is emptied and coolant sprayed near the back of the engine. Turns out it was a broken plastic clip & rubber ring near the temp. sensor. So the pressure from the system was spraying coolant out. Well, that's what it looks like and got those changed and so far, no leaks.

Default That's happened to me twice

Customers came in and the plastic clip holding in a new temp sensor had either broken or popped out. The sensor was dangling by the connector, the O-ring was AWOL, and coolant was everywhere. Now I make sure to re-use the metal clip. 8-)

Cheers,

So it initially came with a more durable metal clip? or did you buy it separately?
