Default WTB K03 Turbo w/low miles

Hi I'm looking for a used K03 in perfect working condition with low miles for a 98 A4 1.8t. If anyone has one, let me know.

Thanks,
Steve

I don't know if you've considered this, but a new K04 would be worth the extra coin

I don't want to get into software updates and reliablity issues. This for my nephew and he does not have money for much more then a used or reconditioned turbo. We want to stay stock for now.

Thanks,
Steve

Understood. Just so you know, you can get away with using a K04 on K03 software

I am not against a K04, but he has not had good luck with the car in the past year. I just want to get him at least running with a turbo, and not introduce any more issues. Does the k04 make the car run lean? Basically money is a problem, not for me, but him. I agreed to help him get it installed, I found a place that will do it for about $300 or I can do it, but prefer not to. I don't want to run into the usual snags with wrong tools and such.

Thank you, kind of new here. I spend my time on BMW forums and they look different.

Default Which ever turbo you decide to get I would try and install it yourself...

it's really not that hard. You and your nephew could do it in a day. Replacing my turbo was the first wrenching I have ever done on any car. It's pretty straight forward just follow the article in the tech section. It also gives some more info on the difference betweent the KO3 and KO4.

https://www.audiworld.com/tech/eng27.shtml</a
