1999 A4 AVANT. Both rear springs are broken. Don't know when and how. Just took off the wheels to take a look, and found this. One of the rear shock is also in bad shape (see pic). Don't know if it is still good to use. Thinking to replace rear springs/shocks at both sides. I checked autohausaz, germanautoparts, ecstuning. But I did not find the standard springs (no lowering, AVANT, I only want to buy the rear ones). Any idea where to order them?

They seem to be dealer only, or VERY good wholesaler. I get mine from my FLAPS who has some very good suppliers, though I think he gets them from the dealer as well.

Stealer wants $146.40/ea for the spring. So I would prefer to buy a whole set from ECSTUNIG for $221+shiping. But the set from ECSTUNING lowers the car 1.5-2 inches. I have two questions:

(1) Does this set of spring work with the stock shock? If yes, I may just need to buy one new shock.

(2) Could it be a problem if I only replace the rear springs (or maybe, and shocks) that lower the car, but keep the stock ones at the front?

to avoid potential trouble. Ecstuning said lower spring will damage OE shocks.

I bought OEM springs (only) for my 96 A4 from the dealer for $23 a side. Agincourt Autohaus in Toronto (416)291 6456. Not sure why Avants are so much more.
