I think I might have a small bend in one of my wheels, but I have visually inspected them and can't see anything... When driving 25 to 45 I get a thunk...thunk...thunk... that seems to increase with speed. Its barely noticeable, I think I feel it in the steering wheel. Any tips on diagnosing this and finding the bad wheel? Or could it be the tires? I have pirelli pzero rosso's with about 10K on and 2 track events on them, they are close to the wear bars. When I put the snows on I don't hear/feel the noise.

Vibration in the steering wheel (at higher speeds) is the first give away.

If the noise and vibration is coming from the tires itself, at higher speeds the vibration goes through an oscillating wave of increasing and decreasing power. If it is constant I would think it genenrally means the rim itself. Lucky for you, identifying a rim problem is as easy as two things, grabbing a friend or taking the thing to a rim/tire shop.

Tell a friend to drive aside the car looking at each tire individually travelling at 60 mph or whenever the vibration is most apparrent. Choose a smooth road, clear of traffic. The messed up rim/tire should be very easy to spot amogst the others.

The other thing u can sdo is just take it to a shop to get it balanced. Their machine ill tell them if the balance is off or untrue. A visual inspection of the tire /rim will check for bubbles, dings, dents, or cracks.
