Not people who read their owner's manual.

Default Any 40 weight. Pick a W-rating for how cold outside it will get. A 10w-40 Hi-Miles oil works best...

Synth 5w-40 is definately not needed for a V6 until you are well below zero f. Dino oil burns off more less and the Hi-Mi oils are great for the weak seals in Audi engines. MaxLife Synth or GTX HM, imo. Plain dino 10w-40 is fine too, Pennzoil or Havoline works great up to 5000-6000 miles. I use a lot of Pennzoil because it runs nice and smooth and has a good modern additive pack from Infinium. The newest Havoline products are very high tech, additives from Oronite. If you have real consumption issues or very high oil temps (>+220f) try 15w-40 HD oil, but the HM oils would be the pick, imo.

As Audi Junkie said. I've used 10W-30 since new, but had switched to 5W-40 for many years now

Default That always confuses me....

What if you get a 10W and get a freak weather pattern that goes down to 3 degrees? Living in Atlanta, does it really make a difference?
