Default What is this part....

It is on top of the airbox and it has gotten brittle over the years. Should I replace it?

Default looks like a check valve

you can replace it if it makes you feel better, shouldn't be more than a couple bucks

Default That is a check valve, in the evap purge system, located.....

just between the airbox & passenger side shock tower area. $20 sounds right, at the dealer. It's job is to prevent any positive pressure from going back to the charcoal canister, can cause multiple confusing DTC's in the ECU.

This check valve is actually very common, and is located in 4-5 different spots on the AEB engine. Most common failure point is the airbox one for the evap system.
