Default What the deal with the rear Avant cargo net pictured here?

It's OEM with a real part number.

It had a rigid metal bar along one edge and adjustable ladder locks for the straps and some button snaps.

Seems waaaay overengineered and complicated. What's the purpose of the bar? All the other OEM net that I've seen are elasticized, simple nets with 4 hooks and that's it.

No, it's not the vertical pet partition.

Any input? Thanks.<ul><li><a href="http://www.eurodrivegear.com/Scripts/prodView.asp?idProduct=281">http://www.eurodrivegear.com/Scripts/prodView.asp?idProduct=281</a</li></ul>

Default Bought it from Greyhound Guy, and it's intended to secure heavier items.

It will secure things that will make the cheap elasticized nets cry mommy.

Default I've never had a problem with mine using small carabiners that came with lip balm from EMS.

I actually got them for free since people were buying the lip balm, but didn't want the carabiner. so, the bin was full of extras. sales clerk said I could take as many as were "extras".

I've even had a 16" winter wheel/tire under it for a few days.

Bar goes in back to keep net more rigid and stuff from sliding under it

Default hey in regards to your rover being locked...

how did you do that? Do you actually have a switch for your locker or did you just weld your rear end?
