Default i feel your pain, i'm in the same boat as you...

currently in school and car needing some maintenance.

but i decided to keep the car. for a couple months' worth of car payments for a new car, I'll take care of a year's worth of maintenance on the A4. Plus, I know I just won't enjoy a new car as much as my A4 unless I was spending $30k+ (which I really can't afford right now while in school).

if your new deal is done, then i wish you the best with the new car.

Default depends on if you can do the work your self

the most expensive single repair I had over that time was about $500

And I had the usual, control arms, timing belt, wheel bearings, and unfortunately catalytic converter.

I didn't have anything out of the ordinary go wrong with it. And with the many tech articles and people with similar experiences, it's pretty easy to diagnose something.

I drove it from 56k miles to 165K miles in 3.5 years before I sold it for my S4. I got rid of my commute so I figured I could get a nicer car with out worry of adding miles.

Default Sorry to hear that man.

I member back in the day REAL long time ago at one of the Krispy Kreme meets you gave me and my two of my buds a ride in your car. sucks that you have to give it up. Repairs are exactly the reason why I don't take my bros A4. Though I play with the idea day in and out. Pimp A4 or Supercharged Jetta. Best of luck with the Altima though hope you like it.

Default $230/mo payment vs. maintaining an A4 at 96k?

...?

Whatever, different strokes for different folks
