Default Vehicle Speed Sensor Problem (*Pictures*)

I'm so confused..Is this the vehicle speed sensor that controls the speedo? It wasn't held on with a hex screw like a few said. Just a clip. It actually just came right out of the hole still connected to the harness. I have a 2000 a4q 1.8. Oh and I can't find any place that sells it. Every time I do a search I come up with ABS Speed Sensors, which I don't think causes the speedo to die right?

Notice the other sensor on top. What is that?

Default Why are you using a service pro oil filter?

call your local Audi dealership tell them you need the vehicle speed sender located on the transmission. Give them your vin. Ask how much and how long.

Default Girlfriends car was in the shop and needed to borrow mine for awhile.

Guess she thought it needed an oil change and brought it to one of those "That 10min oil change" places. Oh well.

But I have a question. Is that what the speed sensor looks like (just two wires, one with a plastic sleeve) or do you think something broke off inside?

That story sounds unbelievably made up.

I would have backhanded her if she brought it to a place like that! She knows better.

Default I do the "borrow and oil change" with my girls car

But I do the oil changes myself cause I don't trust anyone working on any of my cars, specially with something like an oil change.

I used to work at a garage that would take the drain plug off and just turn the car over a couple times.. they claimed it made the oil come out faster.
