Default Vac line replacement questions..

I am considering replacing all my vacuum lines on my ATW. Can I get decent line from a NAPA/Advance auto type of walk-in store, or do I need to order online? Also, which tubing should I get, what OD/ID, and what heat protection do I need?
Thanks!

Default i went in napa the other day and they only have plain vac hose...

it doesnt seem nearly as good as the braided/covered hoses that audi uses...if it were me i'd wait to get the braided hose. i believe its 3/16" but it maybe 5/16 so dont quote me on that one.

Default some hoses are 3/16" and some (you'd need like a foot at most) are 5/16".

get like 5ft of the braided 3/16" one at autozone.

Default it could...i recently discovered the secret to one-time use clamps.

if you pinch across the clamp where the bent over tab is, it pops open...i can remove clamps in 10secs now.

i use wire snips to do this though...not that tool.

Default Pinch the tab? or the entire clamp?

I hate those little fvckers, but then again screwing in the other ones is only slightly less annoying.

no, there is a a small bent over tab, if this is popped off, the whole clamp unwinds.
