Upgrades?
I have a 2.8 I’ve been looking for websites for upgrades and can’t find anything. What are some good upgrades for this motor? No I don’t want to buy a 1.8t

it wasn’t a car people modified when new, and that hasn’t unfortunately changed. The 1.8 and 2.7TT had the aftermarket support

So the '99 will have the 30v 2.8L. Good news is that you have a smidge more aftermarket support than the earlier 12v. Bad news is that it still is very little support.
Here's what's generally available:
PES Supercharger kit: I don't know the gains off the top of my head, but they are decent and it sounds amazing. I also don't recall if it needs a chip tune, I don't have a 30v and never looked into it. You can do a smaller pulley which I bet requires a chip at that point.
Cat-Back exhaust system: Good for a few horsepower, and should lose a few pounds in the process. If you go with a good brand the 30v sounds really good with an exhaust. I strongly recommend against just straight-piping it, they sound raspy that way.
Cold air intake: Not really a power adder over a stock airbox with a good clean filter. More likely to suck in hot engine bay air actually...
ECU tune: supposedly good for a few hp, but nothing like a boosted motor. Some tunes let you delete annoying features that throw CEL codes, so that's nice.
The only headers I've ever seen are people taking 2.7t tubular headers and modifying the turbo end.
Beyond that, I really don't know much more about modifying the 30v.

Unfortunately that gets out of my knowledge. I never really looked into the PES supercharger as I have a 12v. But there's got to be some good info on the forum if you search, or there's a FB group dedicated to the 2.8L and I know at least one person in there has the PES charger.
