Default I live in Akron area ,home of Goodyear..the strike has made me rethink tire choices..

At work we've had a few problems getting replacement and warranty tires. I've seen lots of availability problems with Goodyears. Both limited sizes and models across the line . I would say that due to the problems they are experiencing I'd choose Michelin or another brand because if you had to replace them you wouldn't have any difficulty .BTW, General is also on the outs . I was talking to an insider last week and Continental has dismantled General Tire and Yokohama is getting most of its US plants. One of the remaining General plants will be probably just supplying rubber chemicals by 2008. By the next year or two General tires may not exist and Conti is pulling back to limited choices in the US market.

Default Re: Tire Suggestions

Thanks to all that responded to my question for tires. To be more specific, I am looking for the best size tire for the size rims I bought, preferably an all season tire for every day driving.

Thanks

Default How is the SPT in rain? I was leaning towards the ASX, but like the tread of SPT more..

my only concern with them is how they will perform in less than ideal conditions, they would never see snow as I have my stock wheels for winter.

Default what is bad about all season, I am mainly concerned with how the SPT will perform in the rain..

as long as they are good in both wet and dry I would prefer the SPT's

Default Tire Rack ratings say good in the wet

and that's been my experience with them too. Wet performance is a key factor in tire choice for me.

I'd buy these again in a minute!
