Tire recommendation
Looking for tire recommendations for Audi A4 2000 2.8 Quattro. The last set I had was Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 205/55/YZR16. No complaints with those except that they were a little pricey. Just wondering if there is anything better and/or less expensive out there...
I found lowest price at Sears for the same tires (157.66) between merchants, tire rack, and discount tire direct. Any other place I can shop for better price?
Please share your opinion.
Thanks!

Dunlop Sport 5000 on our 2nd set for her, first set for me...
much better than the michelin that I had. Good in snow, but I usually swap to winter tires if there is a lot of snow on the way.

Re: Tire recommendation
Bridgstone Potenza RE960 A/S Pole Position. I just replaced my Pilot Sport A/S with these Bridgstones and I am very happy. Initially had a problem with the rear wheel bearing going bad at the very moment I replaced the tires and thought the tires were the problem. New rear wheel bearing and "life is good". The Bridgstones feel a little softer over the bumps, which I like, but behave very much like the Pilots in the turns. Great in the snow too. Got them installed from a local private tire shop for $540 out the door. Good luck with your decision.

Re: Tire recommendation
Thanks to all who responded so far. Very useful hints.
I am looking for something that I can keep all year round without having to change for summer/winter.
Anybody have feedback on tread life for ridgstone Potenza RE960 A/S Pole Position? The reviews on Tire Rack says that they are really good all year round, but they don't last too long. One of the reviewers indicated that they lasted about 16K. The Michelin I have now lasted about 55K.
Any feedback on tread life for Continental ContiExtremeContact?
PS: I know the life depends on driving habits, conditions, etc.

Re: Tire recommendation
Sure hope you are wrong about the Bridgstones. I got over 40K on my Pilots and was just barely hitting the wear bars. With winter here I had to swap them. Sure hope the stones last more then 16K. 16k would be a bad thing.

The Dunlop SP5000 lasted about 38k before we swapped them...

They worked really well in the snow. But since I have snows I will swap them on if there is going to be a really bad storm.<ul><li><a href="http://www.tirerack.com/a.jsp?a=AR4&url=%2Ftires%2Ftires.jsp%3FtireMak e%3DDunlop%26amp%3BtireModel%3DSP%2BSport%2B5000%2 BAsymmetrical%26amp%3BvehicleSearch%3Dfalse%26amp% 3Bpartnum%3D055WR65000%26amp%3BfromCompare1%3Dyes% 26amp%3Bp
