Default Timing Belt Kit

I am looking for the most comprehensive timing belt kit for a 99.5 a4 2.8 30v.

I am not doing the work myself rather bringing the kit to a shop. I prefer German brand but am open to all advice.

I realize i could look through old threads, and i have, but thought id see what people would say....Thanks!

Default FWIW, don't think you will save all that much bringing the kit and you might lose out on the

full guarantee from the shop, etc. if you don't use parts from them. At least before I was DIY'ing that was the case for the shop I worked with when I brought my own parts and they did the work. YMMV...

Default Concur. Let the shop buy the parts. And be sure to do all the seals too -

4 cam seals
2 cam plugs
2 cam adjuster seals
1 crank seal

Let the shop buy the parts...I had a lot of trouble trying to do the same thing...most shops refuse.

Default Don't do it. I went that route and my brand new TB tensioner broke......

$1,500 later after an already $1,500 TB job was not worth saving a couple of hundred $$$ markup on parts IMHO.

The shop that did the TB job said if I had used their parts...the repairs would have bee FREE.

But I chose to buy a TB kit on-line from a reputable source and it ended up costing me $1,500.
