Default Thunk when accelerating from a stop ('00 2.8 Tiptronic FWD)

When accelerating from a stop I get a nice THUNK that I, as well as the rest of my passengers, can feel and hear. I also hear a loud thunk when shifting out of P occasionally.

Could be that I'm simply low on transmission fluid, or is something more sinister to blame?

i have the same exact problem with my 1.8t
figured it was mounts as well and so i took it to my mechanic to have him take a look at everything and he said it wasn't the mounts and it was nothing to worry about..
but i still kinda think that that's what the problem is.

Update:
Turned out to be the snub mount. Old one was shredded when I checked it. Just replaced it and problem solved!

I'm glad you got the annoying clunk rectified; mine however is from something completely different still TBD.
