Default thinking about becoming one of you.

i am gonna be moving from canada to New York in a coupla weeks. i got the call from audi canada this morning that i will not be allowed to import my '93 UrS4 (which really pisses me off) so i'm gonna sell it obviously.

given the costs, i'm thinking that a B5 will make a suitable alternative...although i might try and stretch to a C5 as well.

what is your opinion of the longterm reliability of a B5 keeping in mind that at least for 6 months, i won't be able to bring my tools nor will i have a place to work on my car. would the 1.8 be a better option than the 2.8?

thanks for your help

Why won't they let you bring the UrS4? They sold them here in the states as well...

Why can't you import the urS? Plenty of others have. Post on the urS forum and you'll get help.

Default Depends. 2.8's are often considered to be more reliable. But coming from turbo car, might want to go

with the 1.8t. Lots more things can be done to it (as far as engine upgrades.) General maintenance items would probably be the same though (control arms, wheel bearings etc (which are some known/common issues)) So if you can find one that has had those issues inspected (or items replaced) you should be able to get by for a while w/ out tools, but eventually will need to do some wrenching or pay for someone else to.

Default The 30v 2.8 is bulletproof. I sold my 1995.5 urS for a 2000 A4 2.8.

I miss the S, but no more slippery slope and no 1.8t sludge/boost leak/coilpack issues for me.
