There is no oil pump seal on the 1.8t, correct? I am helping a friend change his pump...

Default There is no oil pump seal on the 1.8t, correct? I am helping a friend change his pump...

and he thinks that there should be a seal between the pump housing and the block. I told him I would ask the pros on AW to ease his mind. It's a 99 AEB.

Default don't believe so.

I know there's a little o-ring or seal that goes between the pickup tube and the oil pump housing... but I don't think there's a gasket or seal for where you're talking about.
