is there anyway to upgrade your quattro ?
I drove for the first time in the snow and the car feels wild in an uncontrollable way. I am sliding and the EDL kicks in and i tend to slide like a FWD car. Numerous times i was inches from sliding into the curb. I do not want to have the car hibernate during the winter months. My winter tires have a low top speed rating therefor I am reluctant to keep them on all the time as it has been upper 50's and mid 60's in the past few weeks. Considering I do not have enough money to get a new set of snow tires along with rims, i do not want to keep on a pair of snow tires that are only rated up until 112mph when i drive on I95 and the Merit Parkway everyday. The next person who complains about my snow tires can fix my problem. I would be more than happy to accept a set of fresh snow tires which have a higher speed rating and a new set of rims ! ! ! If not, keep your opinions to yourself.

Hmm I'm still running my kumhos which are 2 weeks young
I have Dunlop D2 16 steel rims but I am in CT and we are only getting 1/2 - 2 inches of snow. I am too lazy to put them on and my compressor is at a friends house.

I am going stage III+ next week...
and I really have no idea how Quattro works. As a matter of fact I seem to have no firm grasp on any of the things that will help me maintain a highly strung car.
You know, coefficient of friction, inertia, stuff like that.

It is going to be 45 degrees on saturday, i have
no need in putting snow tires on tonight for the next 4 hours when the roads are now slush. the EDL keeps kicking in and preventing me from spinning around in the snow or there just Is not enough snow to begin with. i was driving FWD for a while and learned snow on that, then RWD with a tahoe. im climbing up in life, i've got quattro. lol. I didn't think that the tires mattered alot since the roads are mostly slush and i still have minimal traction unless it is because the temp is too cold to be running summer tires with fresh tread?
