Default Temperature Light On

I picked up my car from the shop today for a MAF sensor replacement and the Cooolant/Temperature light came on. The mechanic said that it was on when I dropped off the car but I know for sure that it wasn't. The coolant level is fine and the engine temp gauge is normal (in the middle). What kinda pisses me off is why he would lie like that, we goto the same church.

Anyway, any ideas?

Default Do you think the mechanic messed with mine while it was in his shop?

I first dropped my A4 off for a new O2 sensor, then a week later my MAF goes out, then right after I leave his shop today, the temp goes out too?

Is the temp sensor something relatively doable yourself?

I think I'd probably start with some diagnostics. Why is the light on?

Default VAG codes

I tested the sensor this morning and the sensor was reading 60 deg Celsius in my garage from a cold start. That's 140 deg F. I'm guessing bad coolant temp sensor. It definitely doesn't feel that hot in my garage, it's about 11am and the temp outside is 87 deg F.

Here are the DTC's it threw:

2 DTCs Found:
17952 - Throttle Actuation Pot (G187): Signal too Large
35-10 - - - Intermittent

17580 - Shareware Version. To Decode all DTC's
35-10 - Please Register/Activate - Intermittent

Also, my engine runs fairly rough. I just let my engine idle for about 5min and the temp sensor reading has increased to 81 deg C. Is this normal? What do you guys think?
