Default Sudden Bad Oil Leak??

Oils almost bone dry, just checked it and the whole bottom of the car is soaked in oil. Oil pan is dry and not leaking from oil filter. Check the pictures, I'm out of ideas on whats wrong, can anyone help?? I don't want to drive it anywhere because I'm unsure of how fast the oil is leaking out.

Which engine is this? Is it the back of the engine on the passenger side specifically?

If it's your 1.8T, it could in the oil cooler region which includes oil filter, given it's on the left side of the engine.

Look at his/her sig for the possible engine, then the curve of the control arm. That's the left side of the engine, not right.

Also, in the first picture I see the exhaust hanger: That tells me 1.8T automatic.

Yeah, there were two options on the engine, that is why I asked. Seeing the exhaust hanger made me think it could be 1.8T but Im not sure where the 12V exhaust is.

In that case (and I feel dumb now), it could be either the valve cover gasket, or an oil line to the turbo.

You should clean it up real well, put some dye in the oil system, and trace the leak if you can't find it.

Im wondering because it was all of a sudden, I doubt the valve cover gasket would just completely leak like that.

Cam seal maybe but my guess if it "blew it out" quickly is it's the oil line to the turbo. Possibly the return line from the turbo to the base pan. Can you get a look at those areas and if you're unsure snap a picture and post it.
