Default stupid MAF connector

I know this must sound dumb, but can someone please explain to me how to disconnect the MAF from it's wiring harness??? Every time I try I can't get it off and it feels like i'm about to break it go I give up. I'd really like to remove my airbox when i need to, instead of only being able to swing it out of the way as far as the MAF wires will allow.

Push down on plug.Squeeze tabs on both sides of plug. Pull firmly, dont yank and dont force it.

Are you unscrewing the MAF from the airbox first? There's no room for fingers otherwise. And I only see a tab on one side of the connector. Perhaps we're thinking of different MAFs.

Don't know if it's a 1.8 or 2.8, but this is my 99.5 2.8 and you just push on the wire/latch and it pulls off.

Default Just ran into

this problem the other day and came to find out that someone before me broke part of the 'tab'. Just took a small screwdriver and a few minutes but it should budge eventually.

mtroxel, if mine looked like that, i'd have no problem at all. instead, my connector sits inside of the airbox and there is barely any space to put your fingers around it.

i did get it eventually. just took some force to pop it out. the clip doesn't even hold it that well, it's mostly the friction from the tight fit.
