Default i think i paid $45 at blauparts for mine

the biggest tricky part was we had to figure out which way to press the bearing out. you need access to a shop press. if you take it to a shop to have them do it (in other words if you take just the housing to a machine shop that is not afilliated with an audi garage) make sure they know its unidirectional - you definitely don't want to have to buy a new housing because you tried to press the bearing out the wrong way.

mine came with fairly decent instructions from blauparts. it was before i joined here or else we would have taken pics and done a tech article.

*edit* i do agree with the comment that its best left to the pros unless you are familiar. if you had to ask whether this is a DIY or not, i would say no. i didnt ask this very important question and just bought the bearing firguring i could do it - my project started with a knowledgable local tech 'assisting' me, and ended with me watching over his shoulder and filling his water glass.

Default @$220 per if you have a shop do it

Had both of my rears done a year or 2 ago...$440 total.

Cheaper if you do it yourself, take it somewhere to get the bearing pressed. I think the bearing is @$60.

IMO, unless you are a wrench - this is a job best left to another to deal with.
