I'd wait for the 0w40 or 5w40. hopefully, a chain will run a 5 qt special for it.

Makes ACEA A3 (VW502) spec w/30 weight, just like GC. Castrol is pretty entrenched w/Belgian 5w-40 .

I'm hoping the 0w40 is track worthy. I want options. M1 5w40 TDT seems too heavy this winter.

Default It is a heavy 5w-40, esp in cold. BMW dealers have the Castrol 0w-40. GC really is the ticket...
run it hot and do a UOA. My guess is no probs. For srs duty, look for the PP 15w-50 or some people say they have seen 5w-50. Rotella Synth is another HD oil to consider.

yeah I ended up pulling some and putting in a qt of M1 0w40 with it. seems fine since. <ducks>
