Sounds from trunk area - wheel bearing??
Over the past month, my car has an increasingly loud sound coming from the rear of the vehicle - I have the avant so I can hear it clearly. It gets louder as I increase speed and goes away when I turn left.
Can I properly assume this is a wheel bearing issue?

Yeah, if it's a loud droning sort of sound. Try finding a fairly empty road and slalom left and right so the car leans on each wheel. It seems like it's your left rear bearing.
