I agree with some of what was in the rant a few threads back although I'm not sure I would put it as harshly. My main complaint is people demanding to STFA when the answers really aren't there.
Anyhow, got me thinking... fastest car you've ever driven hard? Idling around the parking lot doesn't count, nor just sitting in it. Be honest. :-)
Mine would be... hmmm..
Either a chipped and slightly modified Buick Grand National or a 1969 Plymouth GTX 440 if you could get the tires to stick.
The GN was fast as hell, it wouldn't squeal the tires in first (low gear, auto only) but as it drops into second the huge turbo began to sound like a low flying 747 and the tires would let loose for a second sometimes before slamming you into the seat.

apr stage III a4, and m3... yep thats it, ive sat in way faster cars, but never riden/driven them
wait not true, ive driven a 340hp 84 vwrabbit, but i really just idled it around the parking lot. so that doesnt count
oh wait, ridden in sti (16 year old bro drove it), pontiac gto(dad drove it)
my bro has driven more fast cars than i have, him and my dad go test drive cars all the time. it's kind of a hobby. my dad puts on the act like he's going to buy the car for my bro, and my bro drives it. then they get their number and just dont follow up... this way my bro has driven(hard) an evo, sti, TT, rsx, another sti, acura TL
he's also driven my dad's ls430, chipped a4, and now he has a camaro z28....
damn he's driven some fast cars

Seriously?
Mine is the fastest car I've ever driven hard. Maybe I should give my forum license back. I, however, don't go swinging my internet d!ck around either.

I guess I should mention...
This isn't really a pissing contest in case people are still all wound up. I just thought it might be a nice break from the hum-drum conversation. It's not the right forum but who cares...
Fast is a pretty relative term. The Buick GN I drove was fast as hell to me. I know if I took my A4 and raced it though on a course with any corners the A4 would probably destroy the GN though. I'm willing to bet at least one person on here has driven a drag car before. Just curious to hear peoples stories.
Fast to me is anything that get's your heart beating hard. Being shoved back into the seat (or to the side for us Quattro fans) HA ha... a girl I work with and I were driving to lunch one day and she asked me "Why do you always drive fast and corner so hard" I just replied "I could tell you, but you wouldn't understand" :-)

Damn was that car fast, even with the auto, but I didn't get to drive it for more than a few miles.
My friends modded Eagle Talon TSI in the early 90s was the fastest car that I've really got to hammer on. With the A4 a close second. The A4 is technically the future wifes car so the fastest car I've personally owned was an old VW Scirroco 16V with major suspension work. Cornered very nicely.
I assume that this list will change when I get the motor for the 911 but I'm not really sure how fast a 32 year old 911 will go without major suspension work, which I don't plan on doing.
The fastest I've driven was in the Talon. Just under 140 on a country road. Needless to say I was much younger when I did that. No way would I do it now, except on a wide open highway
