Screeching sound from transmission?

Screeching sound from transmission?
I noticed that at times, i get this loud screeching sound when I'm disengaging the clutch in first gear (it lasts for about 1 second at most, and only occurs during the period where I'm disengaging the clutch... once the clutch is fully disengaged, the sound goes away)... seems to happen more often after I've been driving for a while... anyone else ever experience this? Of course, this never happens when I try to show it to the Audi mechanic....
