You don't have a K&N filter do you? check all wires around the maf for fraying.

at the same time? 1137 is rich at idle only and 1128 is lean all the time. Kinda odd. I've been a mechanic for 6 years and have never seen a rich code cause by a maf sensor. it's technically possible but unlikely from my experience.

not at the same time-1137 first then 1128 shouldn't maf fail code be the same?

Neither code is a maf sensor code. They simply state that the car's computer has to modify it's base fuel delivery rate way too much to maintain it's goal air fuel ratio. Lean code means it's adding more than 20% extra fuel and rich means it is taking more than 20% fuel out.

While a maf sensor is certainly a possibility. It not telling the computer how much air is going in. Other posibilities are things like vacumme leaks, clogged fuel filter, injectors, weak fuel pump, failing O2 sensors, etc. Your either getting too much air (or atleast more than the computer thinks it is) or not enough fuel.

Well I have a somewhat simlar issue on my 2000 A4 quattro 1.8t quattro.
The car has a p1128 (lean condition)
recentely the care idle funny at first start up, when its cold.
It sounds like a slight bog. . not drastic. .
I recentely replaced the fuel filter. . the fuel in the filter looked very dirty. It was actually more like almost black. .
Also someone asked about if this member was using a KnN air filter?
This car happens to have one, I actually cleaned it all up and reoiled it. Is the KnN a bad route?
Any feedback and/or advise would be greatly appreciated!!
Im suppose to have it emission tested by the 11th
I thought maybe the MAF was bad, the seller told me that he recently replaced it. .
