They recommend dielectric grease?! I always have used oil.

Default You shouldn't use petroleum based products as a lube.....

They can have the ability to break down rubber. Injector o-rings tend to be made of Nitrile. One of the better lubes to use is KY Jelly or something similar. They are water based, slippery and won't eat your rubber.
