Default PVC system=1, IBG=0....

Tomorrow the manifold comes off. Should have done that in the first place, instead I spent all day struggling to get the breather tube off and now I can't get the fvcking new one on. :-(

Default Taking the manifold off isn't bad...(now with a mini how-to remove it)

When I first did it I took the upper coolant pipe off which made it a much harder job than it really is. It's really easy to do if you leave the pipe in place and take the manifold out from under it.

I'd say about 15 minutes to remove it.

incase anyone wants to know how to do it...

1) unplug the vacuum lines from the FPR, DV, the two underneath and the brake booster.

2) disconnect the 4 injector plugs and the cam sensor plug. remove the 2 5mm allen bolts from the fuel rail, pull fuel rail out and set it aside w/ the wiring.

3) unbolt the 1 10mm bolt from the coolant pipe to IM

4) disconnect cruise rod and throttle cable (ndbw) remove the throttle cable guide (the thing on top with 2 5mm allen bolts) set the throttle cable aside

5) disconnect inlet hose from TB

5) Unplug the connector going to TB and the IAT sensor. (be careful the one going to TB tends to fall apart)

4.5 - optional) remove throttle body. It's held on w/ 4 5mm allen head bolts.

5) remove 6mm allen head bolt from the brace under the TB to IM

6) unbolt the IM....a bunch of 5mm allens and a 10mm nut on each end

7) pull it off..twoard the firewall there's a little thing that holds the oil feed line to turbo in place you'll need to pull that off before being able to pull im out.

8) pull im out...may need to wiggle it a bit to get it out from under the coolant pipe

i think that covers it. lots of little steps but its not hard.

I meant the PCV breather tube. That was the hardest part for me.

Default Listen here Mr. three pedal boy...

Next time just drive up.

Last time I did one I was *just* about to yank the manifold when it somehow fell together.
