Default i did this year for reliability reasons.....

with 249K on my car and with some outstanding problems i put it away this year. i only have a one car garage (20x20) so it's snugged over in the back corner where it's not easy to get it out. this way i can fit my 09 Tacoma in too.

I thought the point of an all-wheel drive car like the A4 *was* to drive it in the winter.

never. Quattro + winter tires = it's my car of choice in the winter.

Default we do the TT, but then that's because we don't like convertibles in the wet :D

Plus, I like keeping it's suspension clean

Although it autoX's on pouring days.

But, my 3 other cars are AWD, although not needed in Cali other than showing off at traffic lights :P

Default a4 is in garage on bad weather days, usually drive 4000q or 90q in bad weather

the quattro system plus dedicated snow or all season tires on the older vehicles works good. Its a good reason to have a second car.

Default There are other times of the year that big power awd excels - like a summer track for example...

Not a common example but;

My car (98.5) has less than 30,000 miles on it, it is uber-clean. I've only owned it for a couple years, but it used to be a west coast car and if I drove this beauty in my winter (if I could find the energy to change winter tires on two cars and could be bothered to raise and lower the A4 every fall and spring...), I should be shot =)

I prefer touring car racing or track racing over any winter automotive events. Not that I get to race that much either, but it is what I am aiming for.

Default take a quattro off the road in the winter? ....is that not heathenish behavior?

Mine are out in western Montana winter everyday but they do spend every night in a heated garage that never gets lower than 55-65 F*

P.S. About to roll the sedan from Ohio back to Montana on Wed morning so it has been out in the cold last 3 weeks
