Default Very Long... very I dont know why i wrote this much _ but it makes it clear

To say just one thing. I have a friend with the exact same car as me. (His is Casablanca white)
He started right away with the mods. First a set of 18 then a muffler. Well when he had just the wheels. we wanted to see what difference it made.. (he thought his car was now faster. Oh boy was he wrong.
One night while in some location we decided to see How much faster his wheels where. Well the light turns green and after 30 feet or so i was a car length in front of him.
on the way to 60. it was so much of a gap. at 70 mph i started to back off. that was the only time he was able to catch up.

We trade cars often. like for the day (you can only trust another Audi guy). His car with the 18inch wheels and Pirellis, will stick to the turns, and the H&R springs still give a good ride.
But if it ever comes to a race.. Oh those wheels are bad.

After i get my car back, he always says how much faster my car is. i still have the stock sport rims. As a friend I don’t reply I KNOW!, I tell him once we get chip it wont make such a difference. But that’s not true.

when i drive his car those wheels make such a difference.

Wheels Besides
The fact that most after market brands Are heavier than the stock rim. It is made worse by adding the performance tires, which are usually heavier (even with the smaller side wall).

The increase in unsprung weight doenst slows the car. It makes it handle Worse! The suspension now has to deal with a greater mass - Road vibration can get through a lot easier.

What slows the car is the Addition of Rotating mass. Figure this. Remove one pound from rotating mass at the wheels is equal to removing 20 from the car. the car now has to spin these heavy wheels not just pull them. Add Quattro and your making the car work all 4our heavier wheels.

For you guys that buy after market wheels - Sure they look good. But there is a trade off.

Personally I’m not going to buy a (performance wheel) if its going to make my car slower.
If you want the added benefits of stiffer sidewalls, and wider tire - wheels are the only way to go. So I’ll make sure that the new wheel and tires are going to weight less than the stock wheels and tires. That is very hard to do. Ill like BBS and SSR. They make light wheels that are also strong. The wheel I plan on getting is the SSR GT1. In 18inch (I would get 17 but they don’t have them in 5x112) they weight 18.4 pounds. And the tire a 225 - Not 235 (saves you weight and rolling friction) will weight around 25 pounds. That’s is still heavier than the stock wheel and tire combo that weighs 42 pounds (very light). The SSR will be around 44.

So is there any wheel? Ya but it’s a 15 inch aluminum wheel that you can use for auto x. but the closest you’ll get to keeping your car as fast as it was in stock form – is to get the lightest wheel possible. There is also the volk racing wheel 17 pounds But some people want a nice looking wheel!

So there That is long!

Default The Intake a +, the Exhaust a +, the wheels and tires now let you take the twisties alot Harder

Dont worry to much on your wheels.
The exhuast lowers low rpm torque (once turbo hits the exhuast is GREAT), and the Intake is awsome all around.
The wheels are a nice touch. You are now able to mount sticky tires that have a lower side wall.
once you get into the turns im sure you'll beat your friend.
