Default take it to any good exhaust shop & have them re-weld it..... also....

<center><img src="http://www.shorki.com/car/PES-install/DSC00550.JPG"></center><p>
check out what shorki has on his exhaust, the braided steel section allows the exhaust to move & expand with the heat without breaking like what happend to you, talk to the exhaust shop about adding one of these.

this can also happen if if you're downpipe doesnt have a hanger

Default Had the exact prob after 50k, but warranty on this component is good to 80k (emissions system). ...

Be careful about welding it -- some shops won't do it since it's part of the (gov't controlled) emissions/pollution control system.

Default Cat problems at 50 k

I had this problem with my 99.5 (bone stock)at 49,750 miles. Frank, at Tischer (in Silver Spring MD), got my car on a Monday morning, and had me up and running again by Tuesday afternoon. The separation of the catalytic converter from the flange appears to be a design problem.

Default Just had that happen at my 45K service this weekend. Happened as the tech was driving it.

I get my new cat tomorrow.

The tech said the car sounded like a Winston Cup car.

The warranty, as said before, is good to 80K on this.

Get it fixed for free.

That should be covered under the 10 yr/100K emissions warranty.
