Looks like no improvement or changes at all since I last opened up my valve cover. Oh well, the oil report says I'm doing alright, so that's what I'm going with.

*Sigh* Off to PureMS to buy another partial TB kit.

Bad tensioner? Why would the belt walk off the pulley like that?

Default I and the wife noticed it sounded different right off the bat, but I was told it was normal for

new parts to sound that way. The sound did go away after about a month.

Looks like my hunch was correct on that...

Think it merits replacement?

Default a comment.....

Don't feel too bad, as your not the only one wrenching on cars this week. Just a thought, you might consider installing a new cam chain in there if your going to do another t-belt.
That's some pitting on the cams. Does that car sit for long periods of time without being driven? The only time I've seen that is the above mentioned cause or poor/faulty ground and or production defect.
Nice pics Nate!! I need to get the hang of posting multiple pics in the post(low computer intell here).
Regards

Default The car, while drive hard-ish once warmed up, never sits for more then a day. It's pretty rare

the car sits for more then a day as it is my daily driver.

What do you mean by poor/faulty ground? I rotated everything to inspect further and found that is the only cam that shows that kind of wear (phew!). My guess is it has been like that for some time as I recall last time I did this it looked exactly the same.

I checked the tension in the cam chain and I can't move the chain up or or down at all. Not that that is a 100% indicator of performance. The plastic guide on top looks like it has no wear on it at all. It does however have 176k miles on it and no record of every being replaced. Is this something that can help prevent cam lobe wear?

Default Uhhh.... crap. I'm not sure if it is. Crap, well I still need a new kit regardless after a year

of wearing like this. $200 now or $2000 later.
