Removing original brake lines tips? 98 A4Q2.8
Doing front brakes on my 98 A4Q2.8, one of the calipers is toast, rubber boot's torn & it didn't want to be compressed back into piston housing.
Figure @ 275K I might as well replace both calipers, I don't remember doing them, so it's probably time.
The hoses are looking pretty sad, figure I'll get a set of s/s braided and do it right...
My recollection on brake lines is they are a PITA to disassemble when they're old. At nineteen years, these are very old!
Other than soaking them with PB Blaster, anyone have any tricks? Figure I can soak them daily until mailorder arrives.
(Waaaay back I tried using a torch to loosen hose nuts on my GLI, bad move...)
Already have good set of metric flare wrenches; hose side of the connection looks like it needs a thin wrench to get between the mount and rubber casing,.
Do not want this to be a disaster, have plenty of time to make it as easy as I can...
Thanks
