Default looking for better sound,,,

Guys, I am happy with my recently bought Audi A4 1.8T Quattro.
The only thing I am not pretty happy with is a crappy sound from Symphony/non-Bose system.
Could you please suggest a way to upgrade it to something better and yet squeeze into $300 budget?

I really searched thru the forum and first was thinking about upgrading rear speakers (perhaps with adding a some not expensive amp. Any suggestions are welcome).
After hours of reading posts and opinions got to the thinking that I really need to upgrade my front speakers as well to some aftermarket 5.25" + 1" components.
And finally I read opinions that replacing speakers will not give you much so you'd better replace the HU (it is a 2-DIN Symphony, what can replace it with great sound/look and yet not overpriced?).

Sorry but i am really lost...

So let me ask the original question - what would you upgrade in my case having $300 available?

Default sorry, what about 2-DIN place?

Thanks for the advice! Looked thru the specs and this Alpine unit seems good.

But sorry for perhaps a silly question but how do I install it? It is a 1-DIN unit, right? While I need to replace 2-DIN stock unit?

Default If you go with that unit, you'll get a bracket that will give you a cubby hole under it for storage

Or you can get a double-din unit with say GPS abilities.

But expect to pay around $1200 for that setup.

Default almost decided to go with iDA-x100 or x200!

Looks like they are almost the same with x100 just better display and a bit more power.

Perhaps i would go with x200 and save some money for upgrading front/rear speakers.

The next big upgrade can be Avic D3 then (or a newer Audi car ;-).

Thanks guys!
