The center subframe bolt hole is stripped, however the dealership told me the bolt I have (shown in picture) is roughly 2 to 3 times the size of the factory bolt!!!! WTF, I dont know if i believe them??? The bolt is have is a 21mm head roughly 4-4 1/2 inch long

Does anyone have the dimensions of what that bolt should be - from the factory??? The tech said he thought someone just forced these massive bolts into the hole - it doesnt make sense!

Could anybody give me an estimate as to how long a fix job would take, I love this car and its going to get repaired. Does anyone have a name of a trustworthy shop in AZ to take a job like this to?

If the bolt is oversized, why would someone do this???

Default That's a body shop repair.

The captive nut needs to be replaced. The unibody must be cut open and a new nut welded in.

How did they get such a large bolt through the bushing?

Default I'm sure it's more than just a case of installing the wrong bolt.

They probably stripped out the stock bolt, then drilled and tapped for the larger one.
