I ran 14.2 sec 1/4mile @ 96.72mph on pump gas full weight with K04
This past saterday I went to the drag strip and ran a 14.2@96.72 mph. I was bouncing off of the rev limit in third gear as I crossed the line, trying to shift for forth netted me slower times. The car had my subwoofer and spare tire removed, but had a panzer plate and two JL amps in it. Nothing else waas removed, I did put back on the stock wheels and tires though.
I have to say though I still hate my AWE clutch it came through for me and hooked up with numerous 4500-5000rpm launches. It still feels awful though.
This should also serve as proof that the K04 is a big step up from a K03 sport. Last ime I was at the drag strip with a GIAC chip, mtm muffler and stock turbo the car ran a 15.6@86mph.
It was a warm day and the engine was heatsoaked and not cooling much between runs. I hope to go back in the fall at night with race gas and see if I can pull off a 13.9 with out stripping anything out of the car.
Does any one know what Mike hoods time were with a K04? I think he is meant to have the best times but I don't know what they were and how stripped the car was. I am interested to know.

on a slightly related question!!!
420cc injectors???? are those the ones that MTM gave you?
I'm trying to figure out WHAT injectors i need for stg 3 when i go there down the line and would rather not spend $600 from them if i can figure out exactly what injectors they are (since i know they shave the part number off)
Thx!

nice, what part of the country are you in?
IIRC, Mike Hood never ran a K04 in his car, but most of the studies by GIAC were done from his K03S.
How do you like the MTM setup? Did you dyno it? I was able to run a 13.9 et last year with my j31 setup, full weight sans spare tire, and pump gas with slight mix of race gas.

FWIW I ran 15.1@89 with 80degF temp on stock clutch w/APR Stg1 93oct
couldn't get anything better than a 2.0sec 60ft on the stock clutch. I could probably break into high 14's now with a test pipe. No desire to go back 'till I get a "real" clutch in the car.

Well a S4 can do liek 1.8 60' stock so I don't think so, but a stock S4 does the 1/4 in 14.5.
My best 60' was 1.99 and I think this was based on power because off the line was good. I was getting alot of tire spin but when I tried for less it bogged down.

I am in the North East, I love the MTM but it is a little short on power.
If APR had a K04 file I would switch, but other wise only good things to say about the MTM. It is also not that low on power with these times.
