How to tell if INNER tie rod joint needs to be replaced?
The outer tie rod joint of my car are worn, so I have those replaced.
My question is, how to tell if the INNER joint is also bad?
There is no play on the steering wheel, no noise, etc, but I don't want to take a chance with > 180000mi on the car.

No play means good. I wouldn't worry about it since, replacing it will require another wheel alignment.

OK, thanks. I would really want to avoid another alignment.
I found this video, and I am wondering if the 2nd inner tie rod in the video is definitely bad? The author seems to imply that if it is not able to maintain its position, it is bad.
