Default How to replace Synchros?

Well my synchros gave up, on gear switches it smasheslike crazy unless I manually synchronize with the engine, which i'm too lazy to do.

I've looked everywhere possible, including mitchell, and google, but have no idea where to find it. Help out?

trying to replace synchros yourself may be biting off more than you can chew...there are alot of special tools required to disassemble your trans, which is why mitchell doesnt even get into it...either send the trans to a shop to have it rebuilt or find a good used one...

Heres the catch. I can take the tranny apart, no problem. I've got all the tools to do so. Question is how do I take it apart and replace the synchros without ****ing it all up to kingdom come.

if your asking that question then you obviously do not have all the tools/knowledge to do it yourself...if you take it to a reputable shop/dealer the majority of the labor is in r&r the trans itself, so if you do that yourself and have a pro rebuild it

First 3. I am kind of used to them already, but sooner or later it will manage to kill the tranny.

Default Good Attitude!!!

You have good attitude!

If you figure what is in the pictures attached (not from Audi though..) then we speak the same language.
And, the old tranny will be to play with, a tranny from a junk yard will do OK, a reconditioned one if you get it from true professionals.

Best Recommendation: Double clutching is nice and give you fun to drive. The more you practice, the more you'll like it. It will be natural after some time, so you will not feel it as additional work

Dude. You are amazing. This is what I was looking for a long time. THANK YOU!!!
As for the double clutching, I became too lazy, I only gear down with the clutch. No longer using the clutch to change up.
