Where can I find instructions to remove the AC control unit that is located below the radio? With the right tools (radio removal keys) I am able to remove the radio, but I can't seem to find a way to remove the control panel below the radio. I looked at the Resources but was not able to find instructions for this. I have Audi A4 2000 2.8L Quattro V6.
I also could not figure out how to remove the ashtray.

The picture below shows the part that I need to remove.

Any pointers, links, instructions would be helpful.

I tried to push it out from behind and tried to pull it, neither works. Seems to be stuck. Probably has some screw? clip? or something?

How do I remove the ashtray? I removed the ashtray insert. The ashtray itself still won't come out.

You can try sticking small flat head screw drivers in from behind between the top of the A/C unit and the cage that holds it in place... If none of that works you end up having to pull the whole center console out to loosen it.
