find someone local that drives a manual and have them teach you.

I'm on my 3rd trans in my A4 1.8TQMS
Original, one under warranty @ ~40K, and another (from the world's SLOWEST vendor: Pheonix Remanufactured Tansmissions) at ~61K.
I was very dissappointed with the slow service from Phoenix Re Trans. Use them only if you can wait 5 weeks for the trans and 4 months to get your deposit back.
