Default How many car wrecks have you been in?

Me, I've been in two my first two years driving and I've been driving for almost ten now.

The Audi was involved only once when my mom backed into it. Because you know, red is such a hard color to miss.

I've been in a number of trainwrecks. I think my favorite is the B7 RS4 forum.

Default My wife did an end over end with our 86 4000Q and walked away...

Her passenger with out a seatbelt on was thrown out of the car and lived.

Default Two in which I was driving.

Both were on highways.

First was in an 1987 Porsche 944. I was taking an off-ramp I'd never taken before, at midnight, a wee bit too fast, in neutral, and it had a severe decreasing radius. Road veered to the right, I was unprepared and couldn't do anything about it anyway (neutral). Oversteer spin into the wall nose first and then tail around 15-20mph. Hit nobody else, luckily. Car could've been salvaged, for sure, but it was old and had 220,003 miles on it (I have the cluster still) so we retired it.

Second was in an 1987 Porsche 924S. I hit what could be called a "miracle patch" of slush while changing lanes around 45mph. I counter-steered the breaking-loose-rear-end, like they teach you to do, which caused the car to spin around the other way and took me backwards into a ditch and onto the side of the car. Cop said if I had waited 2-3 seconds to merge, I would've been fine. Gee, thanks for the regret.

Since then, I've been very aware of the 944's tail-happiness, my speed, and driving conditions.

Default I've been rear-ended twice...

Some idiot rear-ended me and totaled my '74 Capri in the early 80's. About 10 years ago someone rear-ended me in my '84 GTI, but it just needed a new rear bumper. Still have the GTI.

Worse "car wreck" I've experience was when someone hit my '98 A4 while it was parked on the street outside of my office. Luckily I heard the impact, saw what happened from my window, and ran outside. The guy blow out his right front tire driving up the side of my car so he wasn't going anywhere anyway. Pretty much trashed the entire driver's side to the tune of about $5,500. Ironic thing was that I parked on the street instead of the parking lot to avoid door dings.

Default 1 driving. flipped the car 2.5 times and fvkced up my back. why I think the driving age should be 18

after getting a permit at 16 and having 2 years of experience before going solo. IIRC, I was able to get my permit at 15.5 and be driving at 16.

I can't say it wasn't my fault, but the road was a blind curve that was missing the warning sign for it... becuase someone took it out going the other way and the township hadn't put up the new one because they were in the works for re-doing the road because of the number of accidents there. --which today, years later, the blind section is gone.

15 years later, just offs at the track
