How do I replace the Fresh Air Intake Duct Temperature Sensor (G 89)?
I have a 2001 Audi A4. I seem to be having the common problem where the external temperature sensor sporadically reads below freezing which causes the air conditioner to shut off. I ran the diagnostic in the Climate Control and apparently my Fresh Air Intake Duct Temperature Sensor is faulty. I am trying to figure out how to replace this sensor. All of the posts I have read on the forum say that you can access this sensor behind the glove box. When I remove the glove box, there is no room to reach anything let alone see any sort of sensor.
Can anyone provide some detailed instructions on how to replace this sensor in a B5 Audi A4?

remove glove box, more inside...
and the bolster under it.
You will see the fresh blower in front of you. The sensor is on the back side of the duct. If you remove the pollen filter, you can see the sensor from the top of the air plenum at the bottom of the windshield.
If you search my UID 90586, I believe that I posted something about it when I did it awhile back.

Re: remove glove box, more inside...
When you say remove the glove box, do you mean completely remove it from the car or just unclip it so it hangs down exposing everything behind it? Also, can you remove the sensor from the top once the pollen filter is removed or does it have to be removed through the glove box area?
