Silent Assassin

First, in case it makes a difference in diagnosing, it is 00 A4 1.8T with APR 1.0 bar chip. Engine has 214,000 miles. Last week under full boost (16psi) the engine would stutter, and if I don’t take my foot off the gas immediately the CEL blinks for 10-15 seconds. A couple of days later it started doing it earlier on, usually around 10psi, and today it is doing it around 5-7 psi.

Could this be a bad coilpack? I’ve STFA, and it is very similar to this problem (see link), but I can’t see a definite solution if that’s the case.

With the mileage, I don’t want to sink money in with the stealership, but if its likely to be something I can do myself then I’ll go ahead and just take care of it – like install new coilpacks.

Any thoughts as to what this could be????? It idles just fine, btw. Anything else I should include to help diagnose?

rather than guess find someone with a scanner, that way you will be on the cheap.
