Default Help an idiot with Dash Lights

Ok. 1996 A4 Quattro auto

I have a somewhat newly acquired a4. Love it but took to get inspected and failed for EGR code P0401. Found on here EGR's get dirty and how to clean it. Did that...But anyrate..WHICH LIGHT ON MY DASH SHOULD BE MY CEL light?? I didnt think I had a problem cuz no CEL on. But in researching I found I have many of my dash bulbs are out (which I have to order replacements). Kept swapping them around but never found one that might be the CEL. Well there was ONE that was on the left of the dash by the left side of tach and it was soldering right into the harness and im wondering if thats it. I want to get it fixed so I know if I get the P0401 code again as I failed NYS inspection and need to know if I got it or not. Dont have an owners manual and they haynes my wife bought me is useless! I gotta get a bently! always had them for my VW's and they are great. Thanks!

shine a flashlight at the back of the cluster, it should show you all of the lights that aren't showing up.

I took cluster out and check bulbs and switched around alot. Ive mapped what I know. but surprising alot of Blank spots. When I say blank I mean spots that dont have a bulb BUT DO HAVE a "plug" in it which indicates to me, its a place for a light of something I dont have on my car.

Please..if someone could just take a few extra seconds and when they turn the car on...tell me where the CEL is lit up?!

I will even post a pic of what I know is mapped to gain some help.
again until my bulbs come in..I have alot blown and spent over 1/2 hr swapping some out to see but so far not luck.
thanks
