Default have to replace catalytic converter...any tips goin in to the job?

i have to replace my catalytic converter to get it smogged so is there anything i should be aware of going into the job??? any tips to making it easier? do i have to change the bolts and gaskets??? i have an a4 1.8t

Default When I did mine . .

I removed the airbox and pulled it through the top. IMO it was fairly easy. Replace the gaskets and bolts while you are in there.

Default true, but i find it hard to come by in the stores, and don't bother ordering offline...

i met the guy that developed it because the hardware store i worked in sold it and he asked us what we thought, and i told him i haven't found anything better as to date.

the more people are interested in it the more it will get bought, cheaper once it gets bought in masses..

i usually get the unofficial public safety discount which is 2 HUGE cans for 16$ shipped to va.

u need a stubby 17" open wrench to get bottom bolt of cat flange off
